Chelsea have reportedly identified Hellas Verona defender Marash Kumbulla as their transfer target for January and ready to rivals with Man Utd for his services.
Having had their transfer ban lifted, the Blues are in the market for new faces, with both young prospects and experienced players interesting head-coch Frank Lampard.
According to Tuttomercato, the West London club are keeping tabs on the development of Kumbulla, who has impressed in Serie A this campaign.
The 19-year-old has 12 starts in Italy’s top tier, helping Verona into eighth place in the standings.
Although Verona are open to cashing in on the Albanian, team officials are also wary of parting ways with one of their main men at the midway point of the season.
Juventus and Man Utd are also believed to be keeping tabs on the situation ahead of potentially making a bid this month.
