La Liga superstar urged Paul Pogba to complete shock move by joining him

Barcelona forward Luis Suarez says he would welcome ‘elite’ Paul Pogba to the Camp Nou and says the Frenchman needs to be competing for top prizes.

Pogba is believed to be keen on a move away from Old Trafford after his relationship with Jose Mourinho deteriorated in the last six months.

The France international has been linked with a move back to Juventus but it is La Liga giants Barcelona that lead the way for the midfielder’s signature.

Gerard Pique opened the charm offensive last week by insisting Pogba would be welcome in Spain and team-mate Suarez has continued it by suggesting the midfielder is not competing for the biggest trophies at Old Trafford.

‘Pogba’s an elite player who’s won everything,’ Suarez told RAC1 on Tuesday. ‘He has a lot of quality and he’s one of the references at United. ‘I think he would like to be competing for more than he is at the moment. He’s not a player that belongs to Barca, but he would always be welcome.’

Pogba linked up with his international team-mates on Tuesday as United take a 12-day break from their Premier League campaign.

Mourinho’s side have lost two and won two of their opening four fixtures and take on Watford at Vicarage Road when their league campaign continues in ten days’ time.
