Paris Saint-Germain full-back Thomas Meunier was reportedly hopeful that Manchester United would make a swoop for him during the January transfer market.
The 28-year-old star has been consistently linked with a transfer to Old Trafford over the last few months as his current contract in the French capital will expire at the end of the 2019-20 term.
According to Paris United, the Belgian star was waiting for the Red Devils to make an offer the previous month, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side instead completed deals for Odion Ighalo and Bruno Fernandes.
The report claims that Thomas remains open to a switch to the Red Devils, although the right-back would also consider signing a fresh deal with PSG should a suitable offer arrive.
Belgium international, who has also previously been linked with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, has scored once and provided two assists in 23 matches for the French champions during the current campaign.
United allowed Ashley Young to depart for Inter Milan last month, but Diogo Dalot has returned from injury to provide competition for the first-choice Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back.
Meantime, Everton are reportedly determined to secure the services of Manchester United-linked Wigan Athletic teenager Joe Gelhardt.
Gelhardt only penned a new deal at the DW Stadium last August, but Manchester United are still reportedly interested in signing the youngster at the end of the term.
According to The Sun, though, Everton are also firmly in the race for Joe, who has been dubbed the ‘new Wayne Rooney’ because of of his form since breaking into the first team.
