Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata is not ready to commit his long-term future to the club and will wait until January window to assess his variants before making a final decision.
The Spaniard is out of contract at Old Trafford at the end of the season and United want to protect their investment in the 30-year-old by extending his deal.
Mata joined United for £37m in 2014 and has made close to 199 appearances for the Red Devils. The midfielder is no longer a regular starter at Old Trafford and is wary that this is likely to be his last big deal of his career.
According to ESPN, Mata wants to stay at United but will wait to speak to foreign clubs in January before committing to a new deal.
Mata is free to speak to clubs overseas from January 1st and United will be keen to get him signed up as soon as possible.
The Spaniard was not involved in the international break and could start as United play their first home game in a month against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
