Bayern Munich and Juventus are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United starlet Dean Henderson.
The 21-year-old goalkeeper is yet to make a single first-team appearance for United and is currently on loan at Sheffield United where he has turned heads with a string of accomplished performances in the Championship.
Henderson signed a new two-year deal at Old Trafford last summer and United have the option to extend this contract for a further year, but the youngster is being targeted by a number of top European clubs.
According to ESPN, Champions League giants Bayern and Juve are among those preparing moves for Henderson. Arsenal and Tottenham are also understood to be keen on the England Under-21 international.
However, United are determined to keep hold of Henderson, with many inside the club confident that the ‘keeper has the ability to take over from David De Gea in the future.
Henderson was named in the PFA League One team of the season after a successful loan spell with Shrewsbury Town last season and has five caps for the England U21s.
De Gea is blocking Henderson’s path to United’s starting XI and the Englishman has vented his frustrations over a lack of opportunities with the Red Devils. ‘What can you prove without a chance?’ he tweeted back in December.
Asked about his prospects at United in November, Henderson replied: ‘All I am focused on at the moment is getting promotion with Sheffield United to the Premier League.
‘That is my immediate goal. It is just like last year when I wanted to get Shrewsbury to the Championship. That didn’t quite happen.
‘But I am clear in my aims this season. The bigger picture looks after itself. ‘If they [United] are not seeing what I am doing then that’s their problem at the end of the day. ‘I will keep doing what I am doing and cream rises to the top.’
