Alexis Sanchez is willing to take a significant wage cut in order to force through an exit from Manchester United, reports claim.
The Chile international has struggled since moving to Old Trafford from Arsenal and has failed to justify his huge £500,000-a-week wages. Sanchez has suffered a dramatic loss of form and has failed to convince Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he should be in the Norwegian’s future plans.
Currently on the sidelines with a knee injury, Sanchez has grown tired of being on the fringes in Manchester and he has told his representatives to find him a new club this summer.
Given his extortionate wage packet, very few clubs in world football could afford to land the 30-year-old but Sanchez is willing to reduce his costs in order to escape his Old Trafford hell.
Solskjaer is willing to sell him, although there are fears in the United hierarchy that they will be able to get him off the books. Executive vice chairman Ed Woodward is planning talks with the former Barcelona attacker before the end of the season in order to assess their options regarding his future.
