Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka is keen on a transfer to Manchester United but will not ‘agitate’ to force through a move to Old Trafford.
The Eagles rejected United’s opening £40million bid for the defender and value Wan-Bissaka at closer to £60m. United are expected to submit a second bid for the right-back in the coming days but it’s not expected to meet Palace’s valuation.
Wan-Bissaka was named Palace’s Player of the Year in May after a breakout campaign and he said afterwards that he planned on staying at Selhurst Park.
‘The situation just shows that my performances don’t go unnoticed,’ said Wan-Bissaka. ‘But I am with Crystal Palace at the moment. That is where my contract is and that is where I will be next season.
‘I have got three years left on my contract. It says I am going to be there, so that is all I can focus on now.’
However, Sky Sports claim that the defender has had his head turned by interest from United and now wants to move to the Theatre of Dreams.
Palace, though, will not let him go without a fight and are convinced that the academy product will not hand in a transfer request to get his move.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to inject more pace in full-back areas and Wan-Bissaka is seen as a long-term replacement for Antonio Valencia, who was released earlier this month.
Ashley Young is entering the final year of his deal at Old Trafford, while Diogo Dalot is considered to be too inexperienced to make the position his own.
