Manchester United have reportedly joined the race for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
Rabiot has refused to sign a new deal with PSG and will therefore be available on a free transfer in June. A whole host of clubs have been linked with the 23-year-old, including Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Arsenal and Barcelona.
However, according to The Sun, United are also interested in signing the versatile midfielder, who is looking for wages of around £200,000 a week at his next club.
Rabiot, who famously refused to be on France’s standby list for the 2018 World Cup, has not turned out for PSG since December.
In all, the Frenchman has scored 24 times in 227 appearances for his current club in all competitions.
Adrien Rabiot is not the only midfielder Man United are keen to sign. The reports claim that Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio has reportedly decided that his future lies away from the Bernabeu and has targeted a move to Old Trafford.
Asensio has been informed of Man United’s long-term interest in him and, according to Don Balon, he wants to link up with the Red Devils.
The report indicates that United will not pay more than £69m for the Spain international, which is believed to be below Madrid’s asking price.
However, after the return of Zinedine Zidane, the situation around Marco Asensio could change completely as the Spaniard was one of Zidane’s most trusted men during his first stint at Real Madrid.
