Manchester United have made contact with Leicester City ace James Maddison over a £60million summer transfer move, reports say.
The Red Devils made Maddison, 22, one of their top targets after a season in which the team finished sixth in the Premier League, 32 points behind champions and rivals Manchester City.
England U21 star Maddison enjoyed a superb season at the King Power Stadium, scoring seven goals and making seven assists to help the Foxes finish ninth.
He is being linked with a number of clubs but Manchester United appear to be at the front of the queue after making contact with his representatives. The Daily Record say United are in talks with Maddison as they seek to rebuild for a season without Champions League football.
It is claimed Maddison, who Leicester value at £60m, has reservations about joining Manchester United due to the absence of Champions League football and the amount of playing time he would be offered.
Man United have made contact with Maddison’s representatives as Real Madrid renew their efforts to sign French World Cup winner Paul Pogba.
The Frenchman is said to be keen on a move to the Bernabeu to work under the legendary Zinedine Zidane but United CEO Ed Woodward hopes to retain the midfielder.
