Man Utd eyeing move for 22-year-old in-form striker

Arsenal have reportedly identified Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard as their top transfer target during the current summer window.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a prolific 2019/20 campaign with the Scottish Premiership champions founding back of the net 22 times in 27 league appearances for Neil Lennon’s side.

Edouard has naturally been rumoured with a host of top European teams following his performances for Scottish giants Celtic, and with question marks hanging over the heads of the Gunners forwards Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the Daily Record suggests that the Gunners could move for Edouard.

Arsenal’s Premier League rivals Manchester United have been also rumoured with a move to French attacker as they considered him as a perfect back-up option for Anthony Martial and Marcus Rasfhord.

Arsenal are reportedly confident that their skipper Aubameyang will pen fresh terms, however, the Gabon international is yet to extend his deal in North London, which is set to expire next summer.

Meanwhile, Lacazette is no longer a guaranteed starter in Mikel Arteta’s starting XI as Eddie Nketiah has more trust.

Edouard already has four goals to show from four games this campaign, and the ex-Paris Saint-Germain forward is contracted to Celtic until 2022.
