Chelsea reportedly plan to hijack Man Utd move for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as they have opened talks with ’s with the players representatives over a possible move to Stamford Bridge.
The Serbia international has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford with Ole Gunnar Solskajer thought to be his huge admirer.
Serie A giants have so far refused to budge on their £80m price tag, however, Le 10 Sport report Chelsea are speaking to the player’s team about a move.
French midfielder Claude Makelele is involved in the talks, advising Chelsea, however, the Blues will face stiff competition from Man Utd and PSG.
The French champions have already made £54m offer for Milinkovic-Savic, although Ligue 1 giants are unwilling to increase their bid.
Chelsea have spent big this summer having already signed Hakim Zyech and Timo Werner for a fee combined 87m.
Frank Lampard is keen to continue the spending spree and is reportedly targeting Leicester City defender and another Manchester United transfer target Declan Rice.
Milinkovic-Savic is 25 years old and his fine form has been linking him with a switch to the English top-tier.
Chelsea and Man Utd are both in need to strengthen their midfield area ahead of the next season and Savic thought to be a perfect addition to both of them.
