Bayer Leverkusen head-coach Peter Bosz is confident that German playmaker Kai Havertz will stay at the club beyond the end of the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old has been in stunning form for his German team during the 2019-20 season, founding back of the net 16 times and providing nine assists in 42 games in all competitions.
Chelsea, Man Utd and Bayern Munich are among the teams to be linked with the securing the services.
However, Bosz has revealed that he expects to keep the 21-year-old midfielder at the club for the next campaign.
“I don’t feel that he is thinking too much about transferring. Neither are we,” Bosz told reporters. “I certainly don’t have the impression that this will be his last game for the club. He is still under contract with us and I have to assume that he will be with us next season too.
“That will include the German Cup final next month (July 4, vs. Bayern) and the next Europa League game against Rangers in August. Of course, that’s all dependent on nothing happening before then.”
Havertz’s current contract at BayArena is set to run until the summer of 2022.
Man Utd and Chelsea also eyeing a move for another Bundesliga star Dayot Upamecano.
