Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has slammed Fred and Andreas Pereira following the draw with Sheffield United last Sunday.
The 20-times English champions were two goals down after 52 minutes but an impressive spell in the second half saw them take the lead as Brandon Williams, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood all scored in the space of seven minutes.
However, the Red Devils were unable to hold out for the win as Oliver McBurnie has scored an equaliser for Sheffield United in the 90th minute. And Scholes believes that midfield duo Pereira and Fred and Pereira should be blamed in the draw.
‘He [Solskjaer] got seven minutes of a reaction, that was it,’ Schold told BBC 5 Live.
‘The first hour was probably as bad as you’ve seen.
‘When you go to places like Sheffield United, anywhere away in the Premier League, you have to realise for 20-25 minutes it’s going to be a fight.
‘You’re not just going to be left in possession with the ball. You’re going to be tackled, you’re going to expect challenges.
‘I think as soon as Fred and Pereira realise that it’s not always going to be easy-oozy in a Premier League game away from home the better.
‘If they ever get the chance to play again together they are going to have to improve massively.’
Meanwhile, Manchester United will host Aston Villa on Sunday.
