French forward Antoine Griezmann has reportedly been assured by Barcelona that he is still a vital player of the club’s long-term plans despite rumours linking him with a switch to Arsenal and Manchester United.
The France international has endured a tough first season at Camp Nou after making the switch from Spanish rivals, Atletico Madrid in a €120m (£107m) deal earlier last summer.
French forward has struggled to break into the side of late, although he did score a stunning goal during a rare start against Villarreal last weekend.
A number of teams have been tipped to move for the world-cup winning forward including the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City, however, L’Equipe reports that he will not be for sale this summer and the Premier League teams will have to look elsewhere in order to strengthen their offensive end.
Barca chiefs are believed to have held a meeting with French forward on Tuesday and told the player that they are counting on him to step up next campaign, with an exit, not a possibility.
Griezmann has managed to found back of the net 15 times in 43 games for Barcelona in all competitions.
