Man Utd set to negotiate with Chinese club over permanent deal for Odion Ighalo

Manchester United are reportedly set to secure the services of Odion Ighalo on a permanent deal after his six-month loan deal expires.

The 30-year-old has impressed for the 20-times English champions since his arrival from Chiese club Shanghai Shenhua, founding back of the net four times in his first eight games.

Ighalo has joined Ole Gunnar Solskajer’s side on a six-month loan from the Chinese outfit in the winter transfer window, however, the Red Devils are believed to be making plans to bring the former Watford man on a permanent basis when the transfer window will be re-opened in the summer.,

According to The Daily Mail, Nigerian forward’s loan deal is set to end in May, and his parent team Shanghai have set a £15m price tag on his head.

The report also suggests that United may have to negotiate an extension for the Nigeria forward’s loan should the Premier League run until June following the coronavirus pandemic.

Ighalo has managed to found back of the net 39 times in 99 games for Watford between 2014 and 2017 and could be a perfect player for the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, another Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen has been rumoured with a switch to Old Trafford this summer.
