Inter Milan have allegedly emerged as the frontrunners to secure the services of Manchester United starlet Tahith Chong.
Despite being highly regarded at the 20-times English champions, the academy graduate has less than six months left on his current deal, giving the Dutch defender with the chance to hold talks with foreign teams.
While Serie A defending champions Juventus have been rumoured with the Dutchman, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the prospect’s agent Erkan Alkan has held talks with Inter Milan hierarchy.
Romano made the claim on Twitter, accompanied with an image of Alkan seemingly waiting to hold a meeting with an interested party.
The Red Devils remain keen on keeping the starlet at Old Trafford, who has played only four seven games the 20-times English champions during the current season.
Man Utd keen on to strengthen their midfield options this month following the summer exit of Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini, while ageing Nemanja Matic has been rumoured with a switch to direct Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur since Jose Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino and they could use Tahit Chong in order to convince Juventus to let Emre Can depart from Allianz Stadium and sign for Man Utd.
