Man Utd yet to make official approach for world-class no.26 defender

Sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has revealed that Serie A giants, Napoli are yet to receive any offers for defender Kalidou Koulibaly.

Given the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic and a failure to qualify for next campaigns Champions League, Serie A giants are open to parting ways with the 29-year-old Serie A defender.

However, despite alleged interest from the likes of Man City, Man Utd and Liverpool, Giuntoli has claimed that the Premier League heavyweights are yet to make their move for his signature.

Speaking to DAZN, Giuntoli said: “At this moment, we haven’t received any offers. Koulibaly had important offers in the past and a great deal of interest, but we are in no rush to make decisions.”

While Napoli are believed to be looking for a fee in the region of £80m, it stays to be seen whether they will realistically be able to attract such an offer in the current global climate.

The 29-year-old defender still has three years left on his current deal with Napoli and any team which wants to sign him will have to meet £90m price tag for his signature.

Napoli’s another star Fabian Ruiz has been also rumoured with a switch to Liverpool and Man Utd ahead of the 2020/21 season.
