Not Koulibalty: Tottenham joined Manchester United in the race to sign Serie A centre-back

Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur set to hijack Manchester United move for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar, according to the reports.

The Slovakia international has established a reputation as one of the best centre-backs in Europe over the past couple of campaigns, however, Skriniar has only started one of Inter’s last four Serie A games in the most recent season.

Skriniar has been rumoured with moves to both Man City and Man Utd as of late, however, the two arch-rivals have reportedly been joined by Jose Mourinho’s side in the race and according to the reports, the Spurs are now favourites to get the deal done.

According to Tuttosport, the Spurs could look to use Inter’s supposed interest in Tanguy Ndombele to their advantage in talks with Italian giants, and a swap deal could be on the cards as Jose Mourinho looks to secure Skriniar’s services ahead of next season despite interest from Man Utd.

However, the report suggests that Skriniar’s future at San Siro is heavily dependent on the head-coach situation, and I Nerazzurri will be reluctant to sell the 25-year-old if Antonio Conte leaves team.

Skriniar has just under three years left to run on his current contract with Inter.
