Footage from Manchester United’s training ground has captured a frosty exchange between manager Jose Mourinho and unsettled midfielder Paul Pogba.

Mourinho confirmed on Tuesday that Pogba would no longer be selected as Manchester United’s vice-captain. While the Red Devils boss denied a rift between himself and the Frenchman, it is believed Mourinho is angry at Pogba for pushing for a transfer.

Manchester United trained this morning following last night’s shock defeat to Championship side Derby County in the Carabao Cup.

Footage shows a seemingly buoyant Pogba greeting Manchester United assistant coach Michael Carrick before stopping in his tracks after a comment from Mourinho.

Pogba glares at his manager before turning to some members of United’s coaching staff. The pair then appear to have a frosty exchange as a number of Manchester United players look on.

Mourinho and Pogba have had a strained relationship for over a year but the feud has reappeared after Pogba questioned Manchester United’s tactics.

Following the 1-1 draw with Wolves last week, the France international said the team should ‘attack, attack, attack’ when playing at home.

Martin Keown, the former Arsenal and England defender, believes Mourinho is ‘at war’ with some of his players at Old Trafford.
