Premier League giants Arsenal have reportedly joined Premier League rivals Man Utd and Man City in the race to secure the services of Velez Sarsfield attacking midfielder Thiago Almada.
The 19-year-old has been dubbed ‘the new Lionel Messi’, has attracted attention from some of the top teams across Europe since breaking into the Velez starting XI back in 2018.
Almada has managed to found back of the net nine times and registered four assists in 46 games across all competitions, including five goals and two assists in 25 appearences this campaign.
Manchester United and Man City have been tipped to go head to head with each other over his services, and Mundo Deportivo reports that the Gunners are now prepared to offer more Premier League competition.
Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid have also been credited with a strong interest in the Argentine attacker, who could be available for around £15m.
Almada’s current deal at Velez does not expire until 2023, however, he has a release clause of €22m (£19.7m), which will rise to €25m (£22.4m) before the August 31.
Almada has been one of the best talents in South America and both Arsenal and Man Utd will go head-to-head for his services before the start of the 2020/21 season.
